As our Asia has significantly contributed its richness of culture, civilization and particularly religious thoughts to the moral betterment of the rest of the world, so our creative effort should be strengthened so that we can match with the ever-increasing challenges that threaten peace and security of Asia.
In the past, we let the military men solve the world problems, we had to face the two world wars; we let politicians solve the problems, our world was divided into two blocs : Free and Communist World; we let economists solve the problems, our society fell into two classes: the Have and the Have-not; so it’s the responsibility of only religious leaders to lend our helping hands in solving the problems. 2. Attending the 4th Annual Conference of World Constitution and Parliament Association at Constitution Club, Vithal Bhai Patel House, New Delhi, on 21-24 February 1981.
In her message to the Conference of WCPA, H.E. Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, stated that, “The world is becoming more and more interdependent. Developments in communication, problems of equitable distribution of the world’s natural resource and the common dangers posed by the increase in conventional and nuclear armaments demand that mankind must act as one. A just international order is an inescapable necessity for man’s survival. Such an order must rest on equal opportunity for each people to develop to its fullest potential. Enlightened representatives of nations must develop international conventions which will make it possible for all sovereign nations to cede some of their powers out of their free will to international institutions in the confidence that their dignity and just interests will never be compromised. My good wishes for the Fourth Session of the World Constitution and Parliament Association New Delhi.”
In his address to the conference of WCPA on February 22, 1981, Dr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong stated that, “ It is my great honour to present to you the point of view on peace work for mankind. As you know, the aim of WCPA is the same as that of IFR but the means to achieve its increasing threatening to human existence especially from nuclear war, for instance, fighting in Kampuchea and other parts of the world can be possibly developed into world war; as a result, our co-operative effort must be united to meet this challenge. As all of us know, the work for peace is mostly undertaken by only minority groups of world people while those favouring war in settling their problems are outnumbered. In realizing this problem, I have to step out to actualize peace movement, awakening human consciousness to realize the fate shading the future survival of mankind, making the utmost use of religious power, the only peaceful means in achieving world peace. At present, I come to know that a relatively huge amount of financial wealth for the modernization of mass destructive weapons has been spent by the three World Super –Powers: USSA for $ 164 thousand billion, USA for $124 thousand billion and China for $95 thousand billion. This budget has covered three-year military built-up plan while the budget allocated for promoting world peace is absolutely scarce. Last two years, I had been invited to the USSA and China and in late 1980 I was at the United Nations and in USA. While in Moscow I urged people concerned that if they loved to attain peace all nuclear producing factories located within the border of USSR had to be destroyed but I was responsed that should USA and China ruin their own armament factories, USSR would also follow that. Now it has been clear to me that peoples all over the world want peace and need to live together peacefully and harmoniously and that their friendly relations have been blocked and the war often breaks out as a result of misleading by only a few groups of world leaders who have already lost their faith and respect in their own people. To bridge this difference, I have intention to bring together, apart from the worldwide peace organization delegations, the authorized representatives of those three Superpowers at the World Eternal Peace Conference scheduled to be held by 1982 at the Religious Land Hooppha Sawan, Thailand. We are now gathering together among the esteemed peace-loving fellowmen coming from 25 countries; our appeal that becomes a common voice will reflect to the world the fundamental human requirement for world peace. I would like to express my gratitude to the host of this Conference, India, the land cherishing peace and fraternity to the ancient and present world. Regarding the Constitution for the Federation of Earth, I strongly support particularly to have it ratified by the Parliament of India and later by other countries. At the World Eternal Peace Conference I would also campaign to have it in the agenda widely accepted by all participants. All peace ideals and movements must be strongly organized and put it in action strong enough to convert human nature for peace, rather than for war; merely beautifully verbal expression results in nothing.
Thank again, and may I pledge my commitment to work together with all of you for common achievement , that is for world peace and the successful establishment of World Parliament and World Government.”
3. Receiving the appointment as World Peace Envoy of WCPA for Mr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, President of I.F.R., as declared by Dr. T.P. Amerasinghe, Executive Vice-President of WCPA at the plenary session on February 24, 1981, that, “By a special Resolution unanimously adopted by a Trustee, we ( The World Constitution and Parliament Association), in recognizing the grand work for peace he has already performed and in believing that as an Ambassador for Peace he can advance the process of obtaining ratification of Earth and the call for a Provisional World Parliament to meet in 1982, are pleased to appoint Mr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong, President of International Federation of Religions, as Peace Envoy of the Association under the Resolution passed at the New Delhi Conference of the Association held between February 21-24, 1981.”

WORKSHOP ON CONSEVATION AND NEW LIFESTYLES By Mr. Suchart Kosolkitiwong*
In order to save natural energy, one has to use a religious approach in one’s own daily living. It is apparent that many people spend a lot of money today in pursuit of their own worldly happiness. Many do not realize that true happiness is not based merely on material prosperity, but on moral attainment.
In following this goal, we have planned and already constructed what is called “ Religious Land” in Thailand, with its own community. Members and friends living there follow an ascetic life. We abstain from a luxurious way of living, by not having alcoholic drinks, etc. People there learn how to control their mind, their worldly desired by meditation, applying religious doctrine in their day-to-day living. They are also taught not to be involved in worldly rivalry and violence, and to be economic and patient.
Lord Buddha shows us the noble way of living, that is, to save energy by taking only two meals a day, by being satisfied with only what one possesses, and by neither sitting up too late at night or waking up too late in the morning.
This is an efficient, but simple, way in conserving natural energy and developing a new social lifestyle for future survival.
